Good morning. We took out a small field of corn late yesterday afternoon. » read more
Hello. It's about 10:45 pm and my son, Taylor and I are staying in Enid, OK. We got here last night about 11:00 or so and a couple crews, Scott's and Chad's, had just finished up some jobs. We met them at a parking lot that we rent to store and clean our equipment. Tanner and Mark got the shaft and had to clean equipment until 4:00 am! Scott, Tanner, DuWayne, Mark, and TJ took a couple combines and headed to Dighton, KS about noon today.
All went well today in the fields as it was hot and windy. Taylor and I made all the rounds riding with Jake's crew near Pond Creek, then we headed to Lamont to visit a friend and banker of ours, Chad Muegge, at The State Exchange Bank, and then we headed to Billings to meet up with Luke's crew. It is definitely much wetter in Billings than around Enid. Being it was so hot, Taylor and I decided we'd treat the Pond Creek crew to some ice cream being they were only about 10 miles from Enid. By the time we tracked them down again they had moved fields and were about 24 miles away! We had the air conditioning in the pickup cranked so the ice cream wouldn't melt! The guys got their ice cream but we have a little pickup cleaning to do!
It was good to see Pam and Amy and all the kids and we'll be bringing home many pictures to post on the site. Talk to you soon.
Travis
