Good morning. We took out a small field of corn late yesterday afternoon. » read more
Good morning. I talked to Luke for a bit this morning and they were going to give it a whirl in Billings this morning where they haven't cut since Sunday. As we were on the phone he drove his pickup into the field and he said it's really soft. It sure sounds like the guys who are staying in Billings are getting spoiled with some homemade food from a neighbor!! Thanks, Tara!
I also gave Chad a call and he said they had a decent day of cutting yesterday. They had to quit around 10:30 or so because the wheat was getting a little tough. He was out greasing combines while I was talking to him and he said they'd be back in the fields shortly. I don't even want to look at the forecast anymore. I'm just going to assume it's going to be hot and sunny!
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Travis

Hi Travis I want to thank Tara for spoiling our kids! I'm sure Will enjoyed the homemade food. Thank you! I do hope the weather improve before Wednesday! If you see Will, send him our love. Casper and Rika le Grange

I really enjoy reading your progress enteries, they are very enteresting. I have something I thought was kind of interesting. About 3 years ago going on 4 my husband was in a rodeo accident in South Dakota. He was in ICU for 1 week during his stay there I remember 3 boys from South Africa that were working for a harvesting crew had gotten severly burned some how. I think they were cleaning some equiptment and something happened. I have never forgotten the very nice lady that was there with them during that accident or the 3 young men that were burnt. I often thought about how they were doing. When I met all the guys working here in Billings, and seeing the Olsen Custom Farms trucks, that name for some reason sounded familiar to me and made me think there might be a connction. When the crew here showed me your web page and the pictures, I immediatly recognized the lady in the picture that was at the hospital with those guys. They told me her name but I'm sorry I forgot it already. I started explaining the story to the guys hear and one of them knew of the boys who had been burned. I just thought Wow isn't it a small world, I would never thought that I would ever be in contact with those nice people that I met in that hospital 3 or 4 years ago. I just thought that it all was kind of interesting. I'm sorry if I have tied up to much of your time. I just wanted to share that with you. We are moving tomorrow and I'm really sad that we will be around here to help the guys here when they need something;food, internet, clothes washed whatever, but we have made some wonderful friendship with them . They are great guys. Good Luck to you and harvesting, who knows we might see you down the rode. Tara Drake I forgot one thing I use to work at the OSU agronomy farm we did alot of harvesting on test plots as well bred wheat for different varieties for research.
