We are finishing a large corn harvest job in just a couple of hours and then we'll have a couple hundred acres for a farmer nearby and then we will be done for the year! After a couple days of wet, cruddy weather, they are giving the combines a try in the fields shortly. It's going to be muddy I think but it's supposed to start getting colder so hopefully the ground firms up a bit so it's not such a mess. » read more

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS...MAINLY AFTER MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT WEST OF INTERSTATE 29. ANY ACTIVITY SHOULD REMAIN BELOW
SEVERE LIMITS.

FLOODING...
LOWLAND FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ALONG PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
RIVER BETWEEN FORT RANDALL DAM AND LEWIS AND CLARK LAKE FOR THE
NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. ALSO...MINOR FLOODING WILL OCCUR EARLY THIS
WEEK ALONG THE JAMES RIVER NEAR MITCHELL...AS WELL AS THE BIG
SIOUX RIVER NEAR BROOKINGS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ON LABOR DAY...WITH THE BETTER
CHANCES PRIMARILY NORTH OF I 90. A FEW STORMS MAY BE MARGINALLY
SEVERE LATE IN THE AFTERNOON FROM MARSHALL MINNESOTA TO STORM
LAKE IOWA.

IN ADDITION TO THUNDERSTORMS...IT WILL BECOME VERY WINDY BEHIND A
FRONT ON MONDAY AND MONDAY EVENING. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL
OCCUR ALONG AND WEST OF A DE SMET SOUTH DAKOTA...TO SIOUX
FALLS...TO STORM LAKE IOWA LINE. THE STRONG WINDS WILL PROGRESS
FROM WEST TO EAST FROM LATE MONDAY MORNING...TO MONDAY EVENING.
THEREFORE AREAS AROUND STORM LAKE WILL NOT SEE THEIR STRONG WINDS
UNTIL MONDAY EVENING.
